Man charged in fatal shooting of neighbor’s dog – The Oakland Press

A Clinton Township man faces up to four years in prison after being charged this week with shooting his neighbor's dog, prosecutors said Thursday.

Andrae Maurice Jones, 43, was arraigned Tuesday in 41B District Court on charges of third-degree animal killing and other offenses. Judge Ryan Zemke set bail at $20,000.

The Macomb County District Attorney's Office said Jones is accused of killing Buddy, whose owner lived next door, after the dog came near Jones' property line on August 15.

“The consequences of the defendant's actions go beyond the legal consequences,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido. “The family is now grieving the loss of a beloved family member. We will ensure that the defendant faces the consequences of his alleged actions.”
