Classes in the Georgia school district where suspected gunman Colt Gray is believed to have killed two students and two teachers will resume on Tuesday – with the exception of Apalachee High School, officials said.

The Barrow County School System posted a letter on its website stating, “School will resume for all students, with the exception of Apalachee High School students, on Tuesday, September 10.”

“The last week has been an incredibly difficult time for all of us. We are still grieving, but at the same time we must do our best to navigate this unknown journey ahead of us together,” wrote first-year Superintendent Dallas LeDuff.

As schools reopen, stricter safety measures will be introduced, LeDuff wrote.

“We will have additional support and security at each of our schools, including more police officers,” he wrote.

The school community can receive “free resources and mental health services” through Georgia Emergency Management, which is establishing a Community Recovery Center in the area, he added.

“We are in this together and as a community we will continue to care for one another,” he said in the letter.
