Rocks Pirates were betrayed – Gol D Roger and Garp found an unexpected ally in the fight against God Valley (One Piece Theory) Anime | Fan Theory

A piece has its fair share of battles and characters. However, when it comes to iconic fights, the God Valley Incident is the highlight. The legendary battle was fought between the Rocks Pirates and an alliance led by Gol D Roger and Monkey D. Garp. What's even more interesting is that only a handful of pirates know about the existence of God Valley.

Although the incident represented one of the most intense battles in the series, it also left many unanswered questions. In addition, a Reddit theory revolves around the very question of Rocks D. Xebec's betrayal by one of his crew members during the Battle of God Valley Incident.

Reddit theory suggests Rocks Pirates betrayed by their crew members

Rocks D Xebec is one of the most powerful pirates and the leader of the Rocks Pirates in A piece. Although the extent of his abilities is not fully known, he certainly possessed unparalleled strength, as evidenced when it took the combined efforts of the Pirate King and Garp to defeat him.

Furthermore, it became clear that he, along with the Pirate King, posed a threat to the World Government when the latter erased both pirates' names from history. Being able to lead a pirate crew with legendary members like Big Mom, Whitebeard, Kaido, and Shiki shows his abilities as a leader. However, his defeat and eventual death hint at possible betrayal.

A Reddit theory about Garp and Roger's victory against the Rocks Pirates had fans speculating about a crew member's betrayal of Xebec. This Reddit user suspected that Whitebeard was involved in the betrayal.

Whitebeard's good nature suggests that he will turn away from Rock's Pirates, as this Reddit user aptly notes.

Although speculation points to Whitebeard's betrayal, it is uncertain. Although he shared some bad experiences with the crew, Charlotte Linlin aka Big Mom is also a likely suspect of betrayal. Her disregard for Rocks as captain reflects her conflicted relationship with him. In any case, Whitebeard could be Garp and Roger's ally, as theories suggest.

Whitebeard could be Gol D Roger and Garp's loyal ally

Edward Newgate alias Whitebeard is one of the legendary pirates in A pieceFrom crew member of the Rocks Pirates to captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, he is one of the most powerful pirates in the series. Not only is he a devil fruit user, but he also masters the three forms of Haki. In addition, his good nature also transfers to other pirates.

This is evident when he becomes a father figure to Roger's son Ace, despite being enemies with the Pirate King. His past as an orphan led him to be protective of Ace. Although Garp and Whitebeard are enemies, they have mutual respect. Aside from Ace's death, Whitebeard's end was one of the most heartbreaking moments in the series.

Although there is no evidence that Whitebeard betrayed his captain Rocks D Xebec, his alliance with Garp and Gol D Roger seems plausible. Edward Newgate's compassion, courage and protective instincts set him apart from his apprentice Blackbeard. All in all, the God Valley Incident remains an iconic incident in the series.
