UFC and Strikeforce veteran Lorenz Larkin wins the Bellator title at the age of 38 with a quick knockout

Even at 38 years old, Lorenz Larkin is not slowing down.

Thanks to his victory at the Bellator Champions Series on Saturday in San Diego, his next fight will likely be one last opportunity for him to win gold.

Larkin, a former UFC and Strikeforce fighter, faced Levan Chokheli in the co-main event at Pechanga Arena. The Georgian looked ready to pose a challenge after catching a kick from Larkin and knocking him down.

However, Chokheli allowed the veteran to get back to his feet, a decision that proved to be a costly mistake as Larkin landed a right hook that staggered Chokheli moments later.

This unleashed a barrage of punches and allowed the American to score a TKO victory in just under two minutes.

Lorenz Larkin quickly stops Levan Chokheli and secures the Bellator welterweight title fight

Larkin has now won nine of his last eleven fights and will face Bellator welterweight champion Ramazan Kuramagomedov at a date to be determined.

“The Monsoon” fought for the same belt in his Bellator debut in 2017, but lost to Douglas Lima. That result came after a two-fight winning streak in the UFC, with wins over Jorge Masvidal and Neil Magny to cap off a four-year career on MMA's biggest stage.

Chokheli's three-fight winning streak has now ended. He is now 4-3 under the banner of Bellator, which was acquired by the Professional Fighters League (PFL) in late 2023.
