Patricia Arquette recently starred for Apple TV+ in the science fiction thriller “Severance” in front of the camera. Now she is taking on a leading role for Hulu, which takes her to a true crime prison. Arquette will soon be seen in “Murdaugh Murders” (working title), a miniseries that traces the crimes of a prominent family in South Carolina.

The focus is on Maggie (Arquette) and Alex Murdaugh, whose family has had great influence in the so-called Lowcountry region of the US state for four generations. They were accused of numerous crimes, from fraud to drug-related crimes to murder. This series of crimes reached its peak in 2021, when Alex killed his wife Maggie and his son Paul with several shots from different pistols. The family father was eventually sentenced to two life sentences.

The series is based on the podcast of the same name, in which journalist Mandy Matney brings her years of research into the fall. Michael D. Fuller and Erin Lee Carr are responsible for the adaptation. The production studios are Eat the Cat and Universal Cable Productions.

Patricia Arquette has already made a foray into the true crime genre for these studios. For her supporting role in “The Act” as Dee Dee Blanchard received the Emmy and the Golden Globe at the time. Her Apple series “Severance” was also renewed for 2022, although episodes are not expected until early 2025. The actress became internationally known as Allison Dubois “Medium”, which she played for seven seasons. Arquette then had other permanent roles “Boardwalk Empire”, “CSI: Cyber” and “The Desert”. On screen she has appeared in “True Romance”, “Stigmata” and “Boyhood” to see.
