Crash on the L3178: Rescue helicopter C28 rushes to help seriously injured person

08.09.24 – Serious crash on Sunday afternoon: At around 1 p.m. two cars collided on the L3178 at the intersection with the K100 near Grebenhain. Both drivers suffered serious injuries. The Christoph 28 rescue helicopter was deployed.

The police report: “A 23-year-old from Lauterbach was driving his Mazda on the L3178 from Grebenhain towards Nieder-Moos. A 44-year-old from Lautertal (Odenwald) intended to turn towards Grebenhain in his Golf at the L3178 / K100 intersection.” At the intersection, the two vehicles collided, causing them to be thrown into the ditch.

The Mazda driver was seriously injured in the collision and was taken to a nearby hospital by rescue helicopter. The Golf driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance. The section of road had to be closed completely for a short time for rescue operations.
