District inmate charged with escape, arrested in New York | News, Sports, Jobs

Kyle Austin Hall, 27, an inmate at Lycoming County Prison, was charged with fleeing and evading to avoid arrest, trial or punishment after escaping from a medical facility on July 25, 2023.

That day, Hall was being transported to a district judge's office in East Stroudsburg when he suffered a seizure, prompting medical authorities to take him to the intensive care unit at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in Wilkes Barre, an affidavit states.

Lycoming County Judge Kenneth Brown then placed Hall on leave and ordered him to return to the Lycoming County Jail within 24 hours of his release from the hospital or face a warrant and additional charges, court records show.

An arrest warrant was issued by Lycoming County Judge Ryan Tira on July 31, 2023, after Hall failed to return to jail. According to court documents, he was later arrested on September 8 in Horse Heads, NY.

When District Judge Aaron Buechle filed charges against Hall, he waived a preliminary hearing.
