Accident on the M25 Dartford Crossing: Man “stood on the hard shoulder”

The incident between a truck and two pedestrians occurred yesterday (September 8) shortly before 4am between J29 and J30.

Officers and London Ambulance Service were called to the scene and found two injured men.

One of the men was pronounced dead shortly afterwards; further details were not released.

The second man was taken to hospital and his condition is currently unknown.

No arrests were made and police investigations into the circumstances are ongoing.

Roads were closed while the incident was being investigated, but they have now reopened.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police were called to the scene of a collision between a lorry and pedestrians standing on the hard shoulder of the M25 between J29 and J30, clockwise, at 3.56am on Sunday 8 September.
“Officers attended the scene along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and treated two men.

“Despite all efforts, one of the men died at the scene – no further details available.

“The roads are closed while the police investigate.
“There have been no arrests.

“Any witnesses or people with dashcam footage are asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 1299/08SEP.”
