Vikas Sethi's mother breaks down in tears at his funeral in Mumbai; heartbreaking pictures emerge

Actor Vikas Sethi, who played the role of Robbie, the boyfriend of Kareena Kapoor Khan's character Pooja in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, died in Nashik on Sunday (September 8) after suffering a heart attack in his sleep. He was 48. Vikas' funeral was held in Mumbai on Monday and was attended by several celebrities and his family members.

Several heartbreaking images have emerged showing the actor's mother breaking down at the sight of her son's remains.

Vikas' last Instagram post was dedicated to his mother. In the picture, he is seen wearing a green kurta and white pajamas and sitting next to his mother Surekha Sethi, who is preparing an aarti thali on the table.

“HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY…❤❤ MOMMY LOVE YOU,” he wrote under the post.

Actors Sharad Kelkar, Hiten Tejwani, Jaswir Kaur, Deepak Tijori and others also attended Vikas' funeral to pay their last respects.

The funeral took place in Mumbai on Monday according to Hindu tradition.

“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the demise of our beloved Vikas Sethi, who left us all on September 8, 2024. The final ceremony will be performed on September 9 as per Hindu tradition. Your presence, prayers and support during this difficult time would be deeply appreciated,” said the official statement from Vikas' wife Jhanvi Sethi.

Vikas Sethi’s death

Vikas and Jhanvi were in Nashik to attend a family function. However, the actor was vomiting and had a stomach problem. His wife said he did not want to go to the hospital, so they asked the doctor to visit him at home.

“When I went to wake him up around 6 am (on Sunday), he was no longer there. The doctor there told us that he died of cardiac arrest in his sleep last night,” she told PTI.

His remains were shifted to Cooper Hospital in Mumbai for autopsy.

Vikas was a familiar face on television. He played a pivotal supporting role in Ektaa Kapoor's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. He was also part of shows like Kahiin To Hoga and Kasautii Zindagi Kay. Vikas also participated in the third season of the dance reality show Nach Baliye with his then wife Amita. He married Jhanvi in ​​2018.

Vikas also acted in the 2001 film Deewaanapan, which starred Arjun Rampal and Dia Mirza. In 2019, he played a significant role in the Telugu film ISmart Shankar.
