Tripura CM condoles death of prominent poet and cultural figure Manas Debbarman

Agartala (Tripura) [India]September 9 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday expressed condolences on the demise of eminent poet, writer and cultural figure Manas Debbarman.

Following the news of this tragic event, Prime Minister Saha paid his last respects to the late poet at the Battala crematorium.

In his condolence message, CM Saha Manas described Debbarman as an eminent poet, writer and socially conscious creative personality of the state.

He acknowledged Debbarman's contributions not only as a university teacher but also in his role as Chairman of the Tripura Lok Seva Aayog and member of the UPSC.

CM Saha also noted that with his death, the state has lost a prominent cultural personality and a long-time supporter.

The Prime Minister wished the deceased eternal peace and conveyed his deepest condolences to the grieving family members.

In a social media post, CM Saha expressed his deep grief and highlighted Manas Debbarman's remarkable contributions as a poet, writer and social thinker.

“I am deeply saddened by the sudden demise of the eminent poet, writer and cultural figure of the state, Manas Devavarman. He was an eminent poet, writer and a socially minded creative personality of the state. Besides teaching in college, he performed important duties as Chairman, Tripura Lok Seva Aayog and member of UPSC. With his demise, the state has lost a creative cultural personality and a seasoned protector. I wish eternal peace to the departed soul and express my deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Om Shanti,” Saha's post read.

He reiterated Debbarman's influence through his academic work and prestigious positions and stressed the loss felt by the state. (ANI)
