Bacup: Teenager arrested on suspicion of cannabis trafficking

The 16-year-old boy was stopped by officers in Bacup at around 7pm on Friday 6 September.

After a search, three bags of cannabis, cash and a digital scale were confiscated.

The boy, from Bacup, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to resell and a public order offence in connection with an incident on August 20.

He was released on bail and is barred from entering the area while police investigations continue.

Matt Plummer, Rossendale District Inspector, said: “Anti-social behaviour can take many different forms, including drug dealing in residential areas. This type of activity is a blight on our communities and I want to make it clear that this type of behaviour will not be accepted on the streets of Rossendale.”

“We will continue to work with our partner agencies to address the issues and concerns of our communities and keep people safe at home and on the streets.”
