Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters admits cheating on his wife Jordyn Blum and secretly fathering a child

Dave Grohl has admitted to cheating on his wife Jordyn Blum and secretly fathering a little girl.

The 55-year-old Foo Fighters singer admitted this in a statement posted on Instagram on Tuesday.

The statement reads: “I recently became the father of a daughter born outside of my marriage. I intend to be a loving and supportive father to her.”

“I love my wife and children and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We are grateful for your consideration for all the children affected as we move forward together.”

Grohl and Blum, 48, met in 2001, have been married since 2003 and have three daughters together – Violet, Harper and Ophelia.

Previously she worked as a model and television producer.

The rock star, often described as a “family man,” has spoken about the importance of his family in interviews over the years.

In 2007, Grohl told The Guardian:[My wife] Jordyn and [daughter] “Violets are anchors that keep me from disappearing completely.”

In a 2012 interview with TIME, he said his family had “changed everything I do.”

He added: “It's changed everything I do. When you have kids, you see life differently. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It's inevitable that that will find its way into songwriting.”

News of his recent infidelity came after he was spotted with Blum at Wimbledon in July.

Grohl divorced his first wife, Jennifer Leigh Youngblood, in 1997 after she admitted to infidelity.

While the public knows little about Blum, People reported that she once appeared on the cover of Teen magazine – after being discovered in a supermarket at age 12.

Blum was reportedly working as a producer at MTV when she met the frontman.

But Grohl told Elle in 2007 that he wasn't ready for a serious relationship when they first met and stopped calling Blum after a few dates.

He said: “After three months I had an epiphany and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, 'Oh, I never thought I would hear from you again.'”

Blum has worked with the Foo Fighters several times and appeared in the band's 2002 video for “White Limo”.

News of Grohl's infidelity comes after he was spotted with Blum at Wimbledon in July.

Grohl wore a dark suit with a gold tie, a white shirt and Dolce & Gabbana loafers and smiled with his sunglasses.

She looked stylish in a purple blazer and matching midi dress.
