What's next for Trey Nyoni? Liverpool teenager has given his all for England

Liverpool talent Trey Nyoni returns to the club this week following a brilliant international break for the teenager.

The Leicester-born midfielder wowed the pitch with some special performances for England's Under-18 side and picked up an award after finishing as top scorer at the Lafarge Foot Avenir tournament.

Nyoni scored in two of his country's three matches – against competition winners Portugal and runners-up France – and was rested for the other game against Switzerland.

The 17-year-oldHis goals were crucial to England's efforts to secure three draws and although the Young Lions could only finish third in the tournament, his brilliant performances were further proof of his immense talent.

Nyoni has now scored in each of his last three appearances for club and country this season, including a goal against Leicester City's Under-21s. He became a fan favourite during pre-season and caught the eye of new manager Arne Slot after shining in a number of first-team friendlies.

Nyomi makes a name for herself

Running freely across the field in all four of Liverpool’s preparation gamesNyoni became a name to watch out for and after scoring against Sevilla at Anfield last month, he was widely touted as the club's next young star.

Although he is still at the beginning of his career, Nyoni has the world at his feet. Given the club’s reputation and Arne Slots recognized ability to work very closely with young playersit is hard to imagine that he will not be called up to the first team in the near future.

With the prospect of working alongside Harvey Elliott, Jarrell Quansah, Curtis Jones, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Conor Bradley, all of whom have performed exceptionally well since being promoted from the youth ranks to the first team, Nyoni's development could hardly be better.

Last season he made his first appearance in the senior national team as a substitute in an FA Cup match against Southampton, which the club won 3-0 and advanced to the quarter-finals.

With the Reds aiming to go far in all four competitions this season, The club’s squad depth is likely to be pushed to the limitand if Arne Slot is to follow in the footsteps of former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp and win trophies, then the starlet could be used more often than expected.
