Bollywood actress Malaika Arora's father Anil Arora died on September 11. He reportedly committed suicide early this morning. News agency ANI quoted Mumbai police as saying, “Actress and model Malaika Arora's father committed suicide by jumping from a terrace. A police team is at the spot.”

A large number of police officers have reached her residence in Bandra and investigations into the matter are ongoing.Malaika Arora's parents, Anil Arora and Joyce Polycarp, were staying at Ayesha Manor in Bandra West where this tragic incident took place. Malaika Arora's ex-husband Arbaaz Khan was one of the first to reach the building and was seen at the spot interacting with the police. According to reports, this unfortunate incident took place on Wednesday at 9 am. According to reports, the postmortem will be held at Baba Hospital. The details of Anil Arora's sudden death are still unclear and as per procedures, the authorities will investigate the matter. Sources had told ETimes that the police are currently conducting the punchanama.
In a media statement, Raj Tilak Roshan of the Crime Branch of the Police Headquarters said, “The body of one Anil Arora (62) has been found. He was a resident of the 6th floor. We are conducting further investigation and our team is here. We are examining all aspects in detail. Our teams are here, the forensic teams are also here… The body is being sent for postmortem. We are examining everything in detail… Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide, we are conducting further investigation.”

Anil Arora usually stayed out of the public eye and was occasionally seen with his daughters on family outings. Last year, Malaika Arora and her mother were spotted outside a hospital in Mumbai where Anil Arora had been admitted for an unknown reason. Malaika and Amrita's mother, Joyce Polycarp, is a Malayali Christian and their father, Anil Arora, was a Punjabi who worked in the Indian Merchant Navy.

A few years ago, Malaika Arora had revealed that her parents had separated when she was just 11 years old. The Arora sisters were raised by their mother, who moved from Chembur to Thane after the separation. The actress had said that she had a wonderful but not easy childhood.
