Dave Bautista's drastic weight loss has fans thinking back to his WWE days | Hollywood

Former WWE wrestler turned actor Dave Bautista, 55, has lost a lot of weight. Fans were amazed by Dave's extremely slim figure at the premiere of his film The Last Showgirl at the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival. An X user shared two pictures of Dave – one from 2022, where he looks quite muscular – and the other from his 2024 TIFF appearance, where he looks extremely lean, wearing a black suit with pearl necklaces and dark sunglasses on the red carpet. The caption read: “Whatever happened to Dave Bautista?”

However, other users argued that Dave's physical change was not only due to his age, but also due to his change of profession. “What happened? He was a wrestler and now he's an actor. Two different stages of life and he's handling them like a boss,” commented one X-user. “Batista is 55. He should be losing weight guys. Muscle-wise he's gradually and naturally gotten smaller over the years,” wrote another.

“He is becoming one of the bigger actors who lets his work speak for itself. He doesn't want to just wait for action or shooting movies, he wants to act. This is his passion. He was a wrestler, he built his body solely for this purpose and now he has lost weight and improved his physique,” said a third comment, while another read.

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Dave talked about his weight loss. “I'm getting super lean, I haven't been this light since I was probably 19,” Dave said. “The heaviest I've ever been is 370 pounds. When I started Deacon, I weighed about 325 pounds. For most of my wrestling career, I weighed about 290 pounds. Now I weigh about 240 pounds. And a year and a half ago, I competed in Knock at the Cabin and lost 315 pounds. And that's when the nightmare began. Getting that weight off was a challenge. Now I'm very careful about my diet,” he added.

Dave Bautista will next be seen in The Killer's Game, which also stars Sofia Boutella and is scheduled to hit theaters on September 13.
