According to science, this beach in Mexico has the whitest sand in the world

For beach lovers, an exciting new list has just revealed the world's most pristine coastlines. Compiled by the travel experts at CV Villas, this study uses color theory analysis to evaluate unedited Google Maps images of more than 200 beaches worldwide. By examining the RGB color values of each beach and determining its proximity to the purest shade of white (RGB = 255, 255, 255), CV Villas has compiled a definitive list of the top 30 beaches with the whitest sand in the world.

The study found that the whitest sand in the world adorns Tulum Beach, a pristine, six-mile-long beach on Mexico's Riviera Maya.

Although the beach is the main attraction, the city has more to offer than just fine sand. Visitors can relax in one of the 20 stunning cenotes such as El Gran Cenote and Cenote Dos Ojos, admire the iconic Ven a la Luz sculpture, explore ancient Mayan ruins or hike through the verdant Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Those looking for relaxation and recreation will find several luxury hotels in Tulum that can serve as wellness oases. The Muaré Hotel, the Hotel Bardo and the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya offer a range of wellness options, including revitalizing spa rituals inspired by ancient Mayan culture and tradition.

Anse Source d'Argent in the Seychelles takes second place on the list. With its stunning coastline lined with lush coconut palms, emerald waters and granite cliffs, this beach is one of the most photographed in the world. It is also a popular destination for day-trippers from the nearby island of Mahé and other honeymoon hideaways, where five-star beach resorts such as Raffles Seychelles, Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas, Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and Six Senses Zil Pasyon are the norm.

Third place goes to Marmari Beach in Kos, Greece. This less-visited Greek island near Bodrum, Turkey, offers shallow waters, cool breezes from the Aegean Sea and cheaper prices than other Mediterranean islands. Tropea Beach in the Italian region of Calabria and Platja de Muro in Spain share fourth place. Two beaches from the United States are represented in the top 20: Carmel Beach in California and Siesta Key in Florida.
