Von Miller: Greg Rousseau's opening game gives confidence

After Bills edge rusher Greg Rousseau recorded 2.5 sacks in a preseason game against the Steelers last month, he said there was many things he can improve his game.

Rousseau did that well in the first week of the regular season. Rousseau sacked Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray three times, helping the Bills to a 34-28 home win. One of those sacks led to a fumble that set up Buffalo's leadoff touchdown, and Rousseau's teammate Von Miller said the overall performance was a strong sign of what Rousseau can do this season.

“I always knew he was one of the the best defensive ends in the league. There are only about five of them, and he's one of them,” Miller said, via John Wawrow of the Associated Press. “I think that's a huge confidence boost. And it's not just words anymore. Even though words are powerful, it's not just words, it's reality.”

The Bills picked up Rousseau's fifth-year option this offseason, and after a few more appearances like last Sunday, his $13.4 million salary for 2025 will feel like a bargain.
