Kansas City Chiefs will miss the ENTIRE season without star wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown after a serious injury

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown has reportedly been ruled out of the Kansas City Chiefs for the entire regular season.

The wide receiver was one of the Super Bowl champions' star signings in the offseason, signing a one-year contract after two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.

He suffered a shoulder injury in his preseason debut that will require surgery, and ESPN's Adam Schefter reports he will be out until at least January.

The news will come as a blow to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Co. as they look to secure a third straight victory after two Super Bowls in a row.

After the game against the Jaguars in August, Andy Reid announced that it was a “sternoclavicular joint dislocation” and this week the head coach said it would take “months rather than weeks.”

And now the $7 million receiver will finish the season with just a single preseason snap to his name.

According to ESPN, there's still a chance he could return for the postseason if Kansas City makes it that far, but he's not expected back until mid-January.

The injury is likely to ensure that rookie Xavier Worthy will get a lot of ball time in 2024.

Despite Brown's absence, the Chiefs' wide receivers still managed to be productive in Week 1's 28-20 win over Baltimore.

Second-year pro Rashee Rice had seven catches for 103 yards, Worthy, selected in the first round of the draft, scored touchdowns while running and receiving, and versatile backup Justin Watson caught a 25-yard pass on his only attempt in the 27-20 victory.

The Chiefs are also expecting more from JuJu Smith-Schuster this week. He was released by the Patriots and had only a few practices after signing his contract extension with Kansas City before facing the Ravens, which would have limited the number of plays Smith-Schuster could have made.

The Chiefs will face the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 on Sunday night.
