Terence Crawford seems ready to face the super middleweight champion.

After Canelo Álvarez defeated Edgar Berlanga on Saturday to defend his WBC, WBO and WBA super middleweight world titles, Crawford posted on social media that he wanted a chance to fight Álvarez.

“Put me in the game, coach!” Crawford posted to X after the fight.

Álvarez defeated Berlanga by unanimous decision, 117-110, 118-109 and 118-109, to continue his dominance of the division. He has won five fights in a row and improved his record to 62-2-2 with Saturday's victory.

But in Crawford he could have a strong competitor.

The 36-year-old has a perfect record of 41-0 and most recently defeated Israil Madrimov in a unanimous decision in August to secure the WBA title and the vacant interim WBO light middleweight title.

A fight between the two stars is far from being planned, but Crawford at least has the support of Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority.

“I will pay Canelo a price that I think is fair,” Alalshikh said after Crawford’s victory last month, according to ESPN’s Michael Coppinger. “If he accepts it, he will negotiate directly with me to close the deal. I don't want anyone in between. I have guaranteed Crawford a big fight, I want Canelo for Crawford and Crawford wants Canelo. But if Canelo is crazy [with his financial demands] I will continue to guarantee Crawford any fight he wants.”

Crawford is nearing the end of his boxing career, but he would like to end it with a win over one of the best, Álvarez. Whether Álvarez will give him that fight remains to be seen.
