Shots fired near Donald Trump as he leaves his golf club in Florida

The Secret Service responded to a shooting near Donald Trump as he left his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to law enforcement sources.

“President Trump is safe following the shooting near him. No further details are available at this time,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said on Sunday afternoon.

Two people shot at each other outside the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach. The shooters were aiming at each other and the shots were not aimed at Trump, the sources said.

According to sources, Trump was never in danger and the shooting occurred in an area outside the club that is known for its high crime rate.

It happened almost exactly two months after Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump, wounding him in the ear, at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.
