Kyle Van Noy returns from eye injury, hopes to play against Raiders | News and Notes

Kyle Van Noy hopes to play against the Raiders in Week 2 after suffering an orbital fracture in the season opener against the Chiefs.

The veteran outside linebacker returned to practice on Friday and hoped to be even better by kickoff on Sunday.

“I feel good and optimistic. I have two days left,” Van Noy said. “I'm trying to do everything I can. I'm just grateful for the specialists I have and the doctors who treated me.”

Van Noy said he would wear a visor if he played Sunday and was excited that he had improved enough to have a chance to play.

He had nothing more to say about the medical care he received from the doctors at Arrowhead Stadium. He described it as delayed and “unprofessional.”

According to ESPN, NFLPA executive director Lloyd Howell visited the Ravens' facility this week and said medical treatment needed to be provided “as soon as possible.”

“I think it was an unfortunate situation that that didn't happen,” Howell said. “Thank God for Kyle's situation [that] it wasn't worse. But here we are with the first game of the season, we still have many more games ahead of us. We simply cannot allow that to happen.”

Van Noy is now leaving it behind.

“I'm just focused on the Raiders and looking forward to potentially playing and being back out there with my teammates today,” Van Noy said. “I thought today was a great practice. I'm looking forward to the next 48 hours.”
