The Wauwatosa Historical Society is hosting a fundraiser with the theme “Christmas in July”

WAUWATOSA — It's the most wonderful time of the year…after all, it's the time to be merry. That's because Christmas is in July!

Even though it's sunny and 24 degrees outside (and there are still 5 months until December), we are preparing for the arrival of Santa Claus.

The Wauwatosa Historical Society hosts a Christmas in July fundraiser. They sell all donated Christmas decorations to raise money to continue their work.

But Christmas decorations aren't the only thing you can buy. The historical society also sells items for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter and Día De Muertos.

It is part of a three-day fundraising campaign running from July 25 to 27.

According to the commercial Christmas czars, Hallmark has three possible origins of the holiday: the way people in the Southern Hemisphere celebrate their summer, a summer camp party from the 1930s, and a summer-themed Christmas movie.

For more information about the Christmas in July fundraiser, visit the Historical Society’s website.

Celebrate Christmas in July in Wauwatosa

This is not the only event the Historical Society is hosting this weekend.

During the Brews and Bloom event, you can drink craft beer in some of Tosa's most beautiful gardens.

But if you're busy with the Harley Homecoming or the Air and Water Show this weekend, you can support the historical society next weekend by going to the Firefly Art Fair at the Kneeland-Walker House.
