The special will Bridgerton And Derry Girl' Nicola Coughlan next to the Fifteenth Doctor Ncuti Gatwaand we now know that her character will be called Joy. It has been known for some time that the episode will be called “Joy to the World” and we have long thought that this is a simple reference to the classic Christmas song. Unfortunately, it is the name of the protagonist of the special, with Coughlan's addition is a welcome addition to a new era of the show, which is already known for its brilliant guest stars.

The announcement of Coughlan's participation was accompanied by a special video in which the actress unfortunately could not attend the rest of the panel in Hall H. In the video, which was shared via Doctor Who'S X (formerly Twitter) page you can get an exclusive first look at the upcoming Christmas special, with the episode Time jump between 1940 and today. The special was written by Steven MoffatThis is his second episode in the new Russell T. Davies era. The author has promised that this will be his last post, but he has reneged on similar promises in the past, so it's safe to assume that Moffat may return again in the future.
