Christmas in July at Bucks County Playhouse with special offers and discounts

Bucks County Playhouse kicks off its 2024 Christmas festivities with “Christmas in July,” July 25-31. As part of the anticipation of the holidays, Bucks County Playhouse is expanding its holiday programming, offering special promotions and package deals that are perfect as gifts for family and friends.

The centerpiece of the Playhouse's holiday season this year is a brand new production of “Anastasia: The Musical.” Featuring beloved songs from the original animated film and more, “Anastasia” is a sweeping musical adventure that transports audiences from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of 1920s Paris. A brave young woman named Anya sets out to uncover the secret of her past, but is pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her.

To celebrate Christmas in July, the Playhouse is offering special discounted tickets to Anastasia for a limited time. Now through July 31, patrons can save 15% on a pack of 4 tickets (code: Family4) and 20% on a pack of 6 tickets (code: Family6). Additional discounts are available for groups of 10 or more.

In addition, two special “Anastasia Teas” will be packaged with tickets to the show. The tea packages are available for performances on Saturday, December 7 and Saturday, January 4. The teas will be held in the historic Playhouse Barn and include a tea time at 11:30 a.m. and a ticket to the show at 1:30 p.m. The packages are $109 each and are available on the Playhouse website.

This fall, the Bucks County Playhouse will also launch a Community Arts Series, in which the Playhouse will bring arts programs to performance venues throughout the region. As part of the Christmas programming, the series will include “Sean Heely's Celtic Christmas” on December 18 at 8 p.m. at Villa Victoria Academy in Ewing, NJ. Seán Heely and a cast of celebrated Celtic musicians and dancers will perform a magical Christmas tribute to Scotland and Ireland. Featuring fiddle and bagpipes, the performance is a culmination of Christmas and Winter Solstice celebrations through music and dance from Scottish and Irish traditions. Tickets are on sale now.

ABOUT BUCKS COUNTY PLAYHOUSE

The Bucks County Playhouse, whose theatrical history stretches back to its founding in 1939 by a number of theater greats, is celebrating the eleventh anniversary of its reopening and restoration in 2012. With more than 75,000 patrons passing through its doors each year, the Playhouse is a leader in the economic recovery of New Hope and the surrounding community. In 2014, Tony Award-winning producers Alexander Fraser, Robyn Goodman and Josh Fiedler took over the helm of the Playhouse and restored its reputation as a draw for Broadway and Hollywood artists. The Playhouse productions of “Company,” starring Justin Guarini, and William Finn's “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” were named to the Wall Street Journal's “Best of Theater” list of 2015. In 2018, the Wall Street Journal again recognized the Playhouse and its artistic collaborator Hunter Foster in its Best of the Year list for its production of “42nd Street,” and in 2019 called the Playhouse “one of the best regional theaters on the East Coast.” Signature Productions has repeatedly broken box office records with Marsha Mason’s “Steel Magnolias,” John Tartaglia’s “Mamma Mia!”, as well as “Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story,” “Million Dollar Quartet,” “42nd Street” and “Guys & Dolls” (all directed by Hunter Foster). In 2021, the team developed and presented Candace Bushnell’s “Is There Still Sex in the City,” which then transferred to New York in partnership with the Playhouse. Recent critically acclaimed productions include “Tick, Tick .. Boom!” starring Andy Mientus and “The Bridges of Madison County,” starring Tony nominee Kate Baldwin and Nicholas Rodriguez. The creative teams that create new productions at the Playhouse are some of the most talented artists working in professional theatre today and are excited about the opportunity to work on the historic stage where Grace Kelly, Robert Redford and Jessica Walter began their careers.
