Prince William and Kate release Christmas card ahead of Harry and Meghan documentary

The Prince and Princess of Wales have released their official Christmas card, showing the family walking hand in hand through the Norfolk countryside.

William and Kate were photographed with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis on a sunny day earlier this year.

The five royals are seen strolling along a path, with the Prince holding the hand of the future King George at one end, the Princess holding Louis' hand at the other end and Charlotte in the middle holding her brothers' hands.

The royal children are dressed for a day trip to the countryside: they wear short-sleeved tops and shorts, while their parents wear casual clothes.

The moment was captured by photographer Matt Porteous, who has taken Christmas photos of the couple several times, most recently in 2020, and has captured images to capture important moments in the royal couple's lives.

Porteous is also a wedding photographer and was reportedly hired to photograph singer Ellie Goulding's wedding to Caspar Jopling in 2019.

Christmas motifs used to decorate official Christmas cards are regularly issued by senior members of the royal family and sent to friends, family and colleagues.

The King and Queen released their Christmas card picture over the weekend.

The photo of the couple was taken by photographer Sam Hussein during the Scottish Highland Braemar Games in September, a few days before the Queen's death.

The cards were released at a turbulent time for the royal family, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex prepare for the release of Volume II of their highly anticipated and controversial Netflix documentary. Harry and Meghan.

Ahead of the release of the final three episodes of the Netflix docuseries about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry hinted that there was a difference in the way he and Meghan were treated compared to his brother, the Prince of Wales.

Prince Harry made this claim in a trailer released by Netflix on December 12, ahead of the release of the second volume on December 15.

In the clip, the Duke explained: “You were happy to lie to protect my brother. You were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.”

The Duchess subsequently claimed that she had been “not thrown to the wolves, but thrown to the wolves,” while Harry described her experience as “institutional gaslighting.”
