Simone Biles' engagement ring “beats” a gold medal

Simone Biles’ engagement ring “beats” her Olympic medals.
The 24-year-old gymnast admitted that her four gold medals from the Games are no longer her most prized possession after her boyfriend Jonathan Owens proposed to her with a diamond ring on Valentine's Day (14.02.22) earlier this month.
During an appearance on “Today,” host Carson Daly jokingly asked her, “You have so much gold, Simone. Does the ring you have now match all the other jewelry you have? Does the gold match the silver, doesn't it match?”
Simone gushed in response: “It's definitely my most prized possession now and I wear it all the time. It's definitely better than a gold medal.”
Although the athlete admitted that she thought Jonathan would propose to her this year, it was still “a huge shock” when he got down on one knee.
She said: “I thought it might happen this year, but definitely not on Valentine's Day. That's why it was such a shock. The way he arranged everything was just so smooth.”
Jonathan, who had been planning the romantic proposal since December, added: “She thought it was just a normal day.”
Simone previously admitted that when Jonathan proposed to her, it was the “easiest yes” she ever said.
Sharing a slideshow of Jonathan's proposal, including a video of her new oval-cut diamond ring encrusted with diamonds, she wrote on Instagram: “THE EASIEST YES I can't wait to be with you forever and ever. You are everything I dreamed of and more! Let's get married FIANCE. (sic)”
The 26-year-old NFL star responded in the comments: “Ready for eternity with you.”
Jonathan also shared photos of the proposal, taken by a professional photographer, and revealed that he surprised his partner by presenting her with a ring designed by Zo Frost.
He wrote: “Woke up this morning with a fiancée.
“Thankful to my buddy @don_julio314 for helping me get everything ready. She really had no idea what was coming, @zofrost you went nuts on this one bro and really made the night special (sic)”
