BBC iPlayer announces new content being added over Christmas

Are you thinking about what to watch this Christmas? Then BBC iPlayer is the place to be. The broadcaster has just announced that a whole host of new titles will be added to its streaming service over the next month.

During the BBC Christmas content launch on Monday 29 November, the corporation's Chief Content Officer Charlotte Moore revealed that there will soon be over 1,000 boxsets available for people to watch – more than the platform has ever hosted before.

The new program includes new films such as “The Girl Before,” a mystery thriller starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and David Oyelowo, and “A Very British Scandal,” a historical drama set in the 1960s starring Paul Bettany from “WandaVision” and Claire Foy from “The Crown.”

This year's most popular shows are also available to binge, from dramas like Vigil, Time and Line of Duty to comedies like The Outlaws, Starstruck and Alma's Not Normal.

The natural history series “The Mating Game” and “Universe”, documentaries such as “Blair and Brown: The New Labour Revolution” and “Fever Pitch: The Rise of the Premier League” as well as children’s programmes such as “Malory Towers”, “Jamie Johnson” and “Nova Jones” will also be shown.

As for films, TV license holders should look out for films such as “A Star is Born,” “Mary Poppins Returns,” “Blade Runner 2049,” “Ready Player One,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and its sequel “Far From Home,” and the romantic comedy “Last Christmas,” starring Emilia Clarke.

In short, there is something for every member of the family to enjoy in December, so get ready to get started!
