Liberty is releasing two luxury advent calendars for Christmas (but they won’t be available for long)

Christmas may still be a few months away, but that hasn't stopped the team at Liberty London from unveiling their Advent calendars for 2023. And yes – there's more than one this year.

First, the usual suspect: Liberty’s Beauty Advent Calendar.

Like previous versions, this year's offering is inspired by the famous Tudor-style store and decorated with illustrations by artist Clym Everden.

Inside you will find 29 giant products (20 of them full-size) from the areas of skin care, hair care, makeup, perfume and even jewelry.

In addition, five calendars this year feature a Golden Ticket worth £1,000 for lucky customers to redeem in-store and online.

Brands featured in the advent calendar include Sunday Riley, Le Labo, Augustinus Bader, Charlotte Mensah and Rose Inc., with a total value of £1,043. But don't worry, the calendar itself costs £250 – so you'll save a whopping £790.

Since its launch in 2014, Liberty's Beauty Advent Calendar has become a cult favourite among beauty shoppers. Every year, items sell out online and long queues form outside the iconic Liberty store on London's Regent Street.

The first edition cost £149 and had £420 worth of content. Every year since then it has gotten bigger and better, including more brands and more full-size products. Since then the price has increased as the value of the content has increased.

For example, in 2018 it cost £195 but was worth £600, in 2019 and 2020 the price rose again to £215 when products reached a value of over £600, in 2021 it cost £225 for products worth £840 and in 2022 it cost £245 with a reported value of over £1,000.

It is often considered the crème de la crème of beauty advent calendars, with its luxury competitors including Fortnum & Mason, Harrods, Selfridges, John Lewis and Harvey Nichols.
