Every autumn Journées du Patrimoine (Days of Heritage ) are an opportunity to open the doors of numerous museums, historical monuments, castles and major institutions. For two days, numerous cultural sites in Paris and elsewhere in France welcome curious and enthusiasts, offering guided or self-guided visits and sometimes even various activities such as workshops.

For that 41st edition of the Journées du Patrimoineyou can choose between incredible architectural gems or more unusual sights such as Jean Dubuffet's famous Tour with figures. Located in the Parc Départemental de l'Ile Saint-Germain in Issy-les-Moulineaux, this incredible 24-meter-high sculpture was renovated in 2020 by the Hauts-de-Seine department.

Here is the program for the Journées du Patrimoine 2024 at the Tour aux Figures in Hauts-de-Seine:

  • Guided tour of the Tour aux Figures by Jean Dubuffet
    21 and 22 September

    The fascinating Tour aux Figures, a monumental sculpture by Jean Dubuffet, was renovated in 2020 by the Hauts-de-Seine department and opens its doors for a guided tour as part of the European Heritage Days, taking participants into the world imagined by the artist.

    From the outside, which evokes bodies and faces, to the inside, which represents an astonishing ascending labyrinth, this colossal work leaves no one indifferent.

    Before or after your visit, a photo exhibition, educational panels, a video area and a games area are available in the reception area to discover or deepen your knowledge of the Tour aux Figures and Jean Dubuffet.

    Please note: The climb to the tower is via uneven steps and may be difficult for some visitors (ages 6 and over).

  • Family tour through Jean Dubuffet's figure tower (guided tour + workshop)
    21 and 22 September

    As part of the European Heritage Days, the fascinating Tour aux Figures, a monumental sculpture by Jean Dubuffet, opens its doors to families for a guided tour that will take participants into the world imagined by the artist.

    After entering this truly monumental work of art, the interior of which is an amazing labyrinth leading upwards, families participate in an art workshop in the tower.

    Please note: The climb to the tower is via uneven steps and may be difficult for some visitors (ages 6 and over).
