Heritage Days 2024: Meet artisans at the Château de Jossigny (77)

As part of the 41st Journées du Patrimoine, the Château de Jossigny will open its doors to art lovers on September 21 and 22, 2024.

Art and history lovers, mark your calendars! For the 41st edition of the Heritage TravelThe Jossigny Castle awaits you. Exceptionally, the monument will open its doors to the public on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, 2024. Take the opportunity and admire the Jossigny Castlewhich is exceptionally open to visitors on this special weekend. The castle was designed by the architect Jacques Hardouin-Mansart de Sagonne for Claude-François Leconte des engraversMember of the 5th Chamber of Investigation of the Paris Parliament, in 1753. Exactly 32 km from the capital, the castle is a testimony to the Rocaille style the middle of the 18th century.

At the end of the 16th century, the property passed into the hands of the Braguelongue family and then, through a complex interplay of alliances, became the property of the De Roig family in the 19th century. Guy-François De RoigBaron, sold it to the French state in 1949, but retained the usufruct until his death in 1975. Since then, the castle has been managed by the Center des Monuments NationauxThe castle, its facades, the roofs of the outbuildings, the park and the avenues have been listed as historical monuments since 1942.

  • Le château des artisans du tiers-lieu
    21 and 22 September

    For the second year in a row, Jossigny opens its doors to the castle's workshops!
    Craftsmen from the “Tiers-Lieu” of Jossigny take over the castle and demonstrate their skills by decorating the salons.
    These two wonderful days of heritage celebrations include open days, demonstrations and arts and crafts exhibitions.
    There is a snack and refreshment area in the Orangery.
