Carrick-on-Suir GAA Club launches its Christmas fundraising raffle with €20,000 in prize money

The Carrick Swan GAA Club's 2024 12 Days of Christmas Draw was officially launched last Friday evening at the official opening of the club's new artificial pitch and ball wall at Páirc na nEalaí by Swan inter-county hurling and camogie stars Stefan Tobin, Emma O'Halloran and Aaron O'Halloran.

The prize money is €20,000, the main prize is €10,000 and there are many chances to win. Tickets cost just €50.

The club would like to thank Father Jimmy Browne for blessing the new playing facilities at the opening ceremony.

To celebrate the occasion, the Swan Club's U7 players, the 'Cygnets', took part in a blitz tournament on the all-weather pitch. It was a fantastic evening enjoyed by the large crowds.

Adult team news

The Junior A footballers easily defeated Killenaule in the South team quarter-finals in Kilsheelan on Sunday.

The U19s travel to Monroe this Wednesday (August 7) ​​to play St. Mary's at 7:15pm. It's a game they need to win to keep their league title hopes alive. The U19s easily beat Mullinahone last week.

The Junior A League hurling players will play against Cahir in the South quarter-finals at Ned Hall Park in Clonmel on Friday at 7pm.

And the Swan Premier Intermediate hurling players travel to Cashel on Saturday to play Ballina in Round 2 of the Seamus O'Riain Cup at 6.30pm.

Youth Teams News

The U17s match against Cahir scheduled for Monday evening (5th August) has been postponed. The U17s will play Ballingarry in Ballingarry on Monday 12th August at 7.30pm.

The U15 team travel to Clonmel Sportsfield on Thursday to play St. Mary's at 7pm.

Meanwhile, the U11 boys played against Grangemockler and Kilsheelan on The Green last week. The Swan players are getting stronger week by week and the Swan Club would like to thank the Grangemockler and Kilsheelan teams for travelling to the games.

Heart screening

Forty-five boys and girls from Swan School, aged between 12 and 18, will undergo cardiac screening at Páirc na nEalaí this Wednesday 7 August.

The nationwide program is run by Advanced Medical Services and funded by the Dillon Quirke Foundation. The aim is to reduce the number of deaths from sudden adult death and the club is fortunate to be part of this great initiative.

Inter-County Players

The whole Swan Club wishes Emma O'Halloran and the Tipperary Junior Camogie team the best of luck against Laois in the All-Ireland Camogie Final on Sunday.

Congratulations to Alex O' Dwyer and the South Tipperary U14 footballers who qualified for the Jim Power Cup last Saturday by defeating Waterford and Carlow on the day.

This week's Lotto jackpot is €13,500 as last week's jackpot of €13,250 was not won. Last week, as a thank you to everyone who supports the weekly Lotto, the club increased the 3-line prize to €500. Congratulations to Bisto Butler who won the €500. The numbers drawn were 08, 19, 22 and 23.
