Ed Sheeran releases new single in December

Ed Sheeran will release new music soon.

According to a report from Rolling Stone, Ed Sheeran's new music will be featured in the Netflix animated film “That Christmas,” which will be released in December.

The animated film is based on the children’s book trilogy “That Christmas” by author Richard Curtis.

“Ever since I had kids, there's really been a lack of great animated Christmas movies for kids, so I thought it would be a great thing to make and bring out into the world. The scene we wrote this song for is so heartbreaking, but so real for a lot of people who spend Christmas without their loved ones for so many reasons,” Ed Sheeran said, according to Variety.

“I got to work on it with my older brother, which is a rarity and a gift to work so closely with my only sibling. It felt so good to create something that my kids would watch with their uncle in the country they live in. I think it's crazy that there aren't more animated Christmas movies for kids, but this is becoming a staple of the holidays, at least in our household,” he added.

Ed Sheeran talked on Instagram about songs that almost didn't make it onto his records.

“I wanted to create this playlist of songs that almost didn't make it because it's fun to tell stories around songs. I often find that songs get big and people like them but they have their own stories attached to them so I wanted to share mine,” he wrote on Instagram.

Some of the songs include “You Need Me I Don’t Need You” and “Shape Of You.”
