Warriors to host Lakers on Christmas Day in 2024-25 season – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

Steph Curry and LeBron James currently play together on Team USA and are trying to bring home a gold medal from the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

But on Christmas Day, the superstars will play against each other when the Warriors host the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center in San Francisco, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Thursday night, citing sources.

The Warriors' clash against the Lakers is part of the five-game NBA schedule on Wednesday, December 25th.

According to Charania, the other four matchups are: San Antonio Spurs vs. New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers vs. Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets vs. Phoenix Suns.

This will be the 14th time in the Curry era that the Warriors have played on Christmas Day and the 12th consecutive year that Golden State has played on the NBA's biggest day.

The Warriors lost to the Nuggets 120-114 at Ball Arena last year.

As Curry and James try to win a gold medal together – a feat they can accomplish when they play France on Saturday – they know their NBA showdowns are coming to an end.

James, 39, is entering his 22nd NBA season and it is unclear how much longer he plans to continue playing.

Curry's current contract with the Warriors has two years left to run, that's for sure, because his 36-year-old contract has two years left to run.

NBA fans don't know how many more battles between Steph and LeBron remain, but the league will make sure the rivalry is as prominent as possible for years to come.
