Five Nights at Freddy's 2 leaks its own script – but not all of it is real

Christmas 2025 is going to be spooky with Five Nights at Freddy's 2, and we've got our first look at a leaked script. ScottGames is behind it… but how much of it is true?

Whether you played the original game series or not, horror movie fans were really divided when it came to Five Nights at Freddy's. The first film was a box office hit, making money before it was released, but it was also frowned upon for its take on history (you can read our review here).

Still, the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 release date was all but confirmed before fans even saw a scene on screen, and the film will hit theaters in December 2025. We still have a long way to go before we find out more…or do we?

Developer ScottGames has apparently leaked four pages of the sequel's script online, but only one of them is actually real. It's up to fans to figure out what's going on, and they already have some ideas.

“Is it just me or is this not good at all,” posted one fan on X/Twitter, with a second responding, “This is shit from Ryan Reynolds.”

A third person chimed in: “Um, what should we do with this information?”

“The worst will certainly be the seriousness,” complained a fourth.

Each page focuses on a completely different scene and a different group of characters, and fans have little idea of their context. Things were a little precarious at the end of Five Nights at Freddy's, and the Yellow Rabbit isn't completely killed off.

In the scenes, Abby and Vanessa confront Toy Chica – a version of the villain from the second game -, General Everly and Captain Nelson discuss the animatronics, new characters Gemma and Darrin enter the pizzeria, and Mike tells Vanessa he has a job to do.

Since three out of four scenes feature a child, fans have already discovered something that bothers them, regardless of whether it is realistic or not.

“The films really shouldn't have been aimed at children. Horror fans had high hopes and the film was not well received. If it had been otherwise, it would have broken all box office records. The first generation of FNAF fans are already adults,” complained one fan.

Another agreed: “I know it's aimed at kids, but I hope the sequel has more horror elements.”

At the time of writing, we don't know the exact plot of Five Nights at Freddy's 2, nor do we know which script pages are real. We can hope for a faithful adaptation of the second game, with director Emma Tammi promising there will be new faces along the way.
