In the entire NBA schedule for Christmas Day, Wolves and Mavs are reportedly in the second game

It now seems quite realistic that the Minnesota Timberwolves will face the Dallas Mavericks in a playoff rematch on Christmas Day.

According to Shams Charania, Minnesota will visit the Mavericks in Dallas on Christmas Day. Based on the order Charania revealed the five 2024 Christmas games, the Wolves and Mavericks would face off in the early afternoon game. That's speculation on our part, but it's certainly a realistic possibility.

Why do we assume kickoff is early afternoon? Because Charania listed the five games in an order that suggests the West Coast teams will play the late games, while the East Coast and Central time zone teams will play earlier.

Last season, the NBA's Christmas games started at 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Based on this logic, we can speculate that the 2024 Christmas schedule will look like this:

This makes all the more sense since last Christmas the Knicks were allowed to play at 11 a.m. while the Celtics were in the 4 p.m. time slot.

For some Timberwolves players, there has been little rest this summer. Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert are competing in the Olympic Games, which end on Saturday with the gold medal game between the USA and France. Before they know it, they will be back on the court in September for their training camp and playing in the first preseason game against the Lakers on October 4 in Palm Springs, California.
