Packers put 12 players on the bench in the season opener against …

The Green Bay Packers will be missing twelve players from their 91-man roster for their season opener against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, including three expected regular players.

Coach Matt LaFleur said all other healthy veterans would play in some capacity, including quarterback Jordan Love.

The Packers announced that the following players are not expected to play against the Browns:

WR Dimitri Stanley
CB Jaire Alexander
CB Carrington Valentine
DL Deslin Alexandre
OL Zach Tom
DL Keshawn Banks
LB Edgerrin Cooper
LB Ty’Ron Hopper
OL Donovan Jennings
OL Jordan Morgan
TE Tyler Davis
TE Tucker Power

According to the radio report, Alexander is absent for personal reasons.

Tom is still working on getting back into 11-on-11 action after suffering a pectoral muscle injury during the offseason, as is Kraft, who was activated from the PUP list just Monday.

Morgan, the team's first-round pick, is out with a shoulder injury. It's possible he could return next week and make his NFL debut.

Valentine, who is fighting for a spot in the starting lineup at cornerback, remains out with a hamstring injury.

Cooper and Hopper, two rookie linebackers, are both struggling with previous injuries. Cooper has a hip injury, Hopper an ankle injury. Their NFL debuts will also have to wait.

Kickoff between the Packers and Browns at Cleveland Browns Stadium is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. CT.
