“It started in September,” Kloots said. “September was a very rough month for me. I have to go back to school, I have to go back to work, it's Nick's birthday and we have an anniversary. It was literally one thing after another. I wasn't at my best in September.”

The Fit for Christmas The co-writer and lead actress didn't know what to say to her toddler and couldn't hold back the tears.

“Elvis started asking questions, and it started with, 'Why doesn't daddy live with us?'” Kloots said. “It wasn't easy. I immediately broke down. I changed his diapers. We got ready for bed, and every night I have him hold this Nick pillow and say, 'Tell daddy about your day,' while I change his diapers, and it's so sweet. Sometimes he'll just tell him about school, or I'll say, 'Tell him what you had for dinner.'”

“He's talking to Nick, holding his pillow, kissing and hugging him a little bit, and then he says this, so I just cried,” Kloots recalls. “I had no plan for it because I had no idea when it was going to happen.”
