Former Big Ten Player of the Year and ex-Bulls player signs with international team

Denzel Valentine was once one of America's most touted college basketball players. Expectations were high when the Chicago Bulls drafted him 14th overall in the 2016 draft. Unfortunately, expectations were never met and Valentine now has a new home in Italy.

Former Chicago Bulls striker Denzel Valentine has signed a one-year deal with Pallacanestro Trieste, according to Andrea Calzoni. Valentine also played in Italy for Olimpia Milan last season.

As a college basketball player, Denzel Valentine was incredibly successful, being named Big Ten Player of the Year by CBS, Associated Press, FOX, Bleacher Report, media and coaches. He was also NABC Player of the Year, a unanimous first-team All-American selection and a Julius Erving Award recipient.

Despite all the accolades Valentine received in college, he will be remembered for two key moments during his five-year career with the Chicago Bulls. The first was one of the worst heat checks in modern basketball history.

The highlight of Valentine's career with the Chicago Bulls came when he scored a career-high 34 points and 7 rebounds in a crucial game against LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers.

Hopefully Denzel Valentine can find a way to find the player he once was in college while overseas. There's nothing better than seeing a player find his way back to the NBA.
