Sarah Michelle Gellar reveals the secret of her 13-year marriage to Freddie Prinze Jr.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. could be the poster children of eternal love in Hollywood.

After 13 years of marriage, Gellar says she and her husband know exactly how they want to celebrate Valentine's Day – as a family with children Charlotte Grace, 6, and Rocky James, 3.

“When you have children, [Valentine’s Day] is really just an expression of love,” she tells the WHO. “In this hectic world, we sometimes forget to tell people [we love them].”

And the family has been especially busy lately: Gellar, 38, has her own line of kid-friendly baking and decorating kits called FoodStirs, while Prinze, 39, has his own cookbook called Back to the Kitchen (out June 7).

Besides work and her little ones, Gellar has a guiding principle for herself (and others): “Make the most of the moments you have.”

She also cites mindfulness and presence as factors that contributed to her successful marriage.

“Take the 10 minutes – put the phone away. Have a cup of coffee together. Walk the dog at the end of the evening. Read a story with your kids,” she suggests. “Make the most of the time you have. We're all being pulled in so many directions, so make sure you're present no matter what direction you're focused on.”
