REPORTS

INDECIDENT EXPOSURE, 2024-08110104, 400 block of 23rd S Street on August 11 at approximately 12:46 p.m., police were called to a report of an exposure. Upon arrival, it was found that the adult female victim and juvenile female victim were exiting a store when they were approached by the male suspect, who then allegedly exposed himself and made inappropriate statements. The victims then ran from the scene and called police. A wanted signal was sent and an officer who responded located the suspect nearby and arrested him without incident. Mark Allen, 50, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a child, sexual exposure (3+ offenses in 10 years), and public intoxication. He was held without bail.

VEHICLE TAMPERING (serious), 2024-08100021, 1500 block of Arlington Boulevard. On August 10 at approximately 2:58 a.m., police were called to a report of break-ins into parked cars in a parking lot. When police arrived, the suspects fled the scene on foot. A security perimeter was established and two suspects were found nearby and taken into custody. Items found on the suspects include an unidentified 9mm “ghost gun” loaded with nine rounds of ammunition, a window punch device, and a claw hammer. Investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly broke into three vehicles and attempted to steal one of them by tampering with the ignition. Noel Sanchez, 19, of Alexandria, VA, was charged with attempted grand larceny of a vehicle, possession of burglary tools, tampering with a vehicle, and conspiracy to commit theft. Nixon Menjivar, 18, of Alexandria, Virginia, was charged with attempted grand theft auto, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of burglary tools, tampering with a vehicle and conspiracy to commit theft.

ROBBERY,2024-08110073, 3400 block of Washington Boulevard. On August 11, police were called at approximately 9:38 a.m. to a report of a robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, it was found that the male suspect had entered the store, allegedly stolen merchandise, and left the store without paying. As the suspect exited the store, he was assaulted by anti-theft employees, whom he kicked and fled the scene on foot. A wanted signal was sent and officers responding to the call located the suspect at the corner of Fairfax Drive and N. Nelson Street and took him into custody. Kermit Meredith Jr., 29, of Washington, DC, was arrested and charged with robbery and public intoxication.

VIOLENT INJURIES BY THE MOB, 2024-08120018, 2600 block of Pershing Drive. On August 12 at approximately 2:06 a.m., police were called to a report of an assault resulting in injury. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim had attempted to enter an establishment but had been turned away by security. Suspect One then approached the victim outside the establishment and engaged him in conversation. Shortly thereafter, Suspect Two exited the establishment and a physical altercation ensued, during which the victim fell to the ground and was assaulted by Suspect One. Suspect Three then exited the establishment and joined in the altercation by assaulting the victim. All three suspects then entered a white SUV with Maryland plates driven by Suspect Four and fled the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Suspect One is described as a Hispanic male of average build with medium length black hair and a black beard wearing a black t-shirt, jeans and white shoes. Suspect Two is described as a Hispanic male of average build with short black hair wearing a white t-shirt, light blue jeans and white sneakers. Suspect Three is described as a Hispanic male of athletic build with short black hair wearing a black hat, white shirt, black jeans and black and white sneakers. Suspect Four is described as a female of unknown race. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2024-08090107, 900 block of N. Stafford Street. On August 9th at approximately 2:53 p.m., police were called to a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a male suspect was a passenger in a taxi when he brandished a firearm and demanded cash. The driver stopped and the suspect stole the contents of the driver's wallet, exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. A wanted notice was sent and officers who responded searched the area for the suspect but were unsuccessful. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'8″ tall, approximately 50-60 years old, with a black hair covering and a black jacket. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2024-08100015, 1500 block of Wilson Boulevard. On August 10, police were called to a theft report at approximately 1:47 a.m. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the male suspect had forced entry into the closed business and caused property damage. The suspect then stole an undisclosed amount of cash from three cash registers before fleeing the scene on foot. Officers who called the suspect searched the area for the suspect, with no results. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6'1″, mid to late 20's, weighing approximately 150 pounds, wearing a striped long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans. The investigation is ongoing.

Illegal entry, 2024-08090193, 2100 block of N. Taylor Street. On August 9, police were called at approximately 10:26 p.m. to a report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined that a witness saw the door to a vacant home open and called police. Initial investigation revealed that the unknown suspect(s) entered the vacant home and then fled the scene. No description(s) of the suspect are available. The investigation is ongoing.
