Margate Crime Update: Burglary, fraud and theft cases reported

This is a summary of crime and arrests in Margate up to August 5, 2024, compiled as part of our joint efforts with Margate Police to keep residents informed.

Animal bite

On July 30, 2024, an animal bite was reported on Rock Island Road.

battery

On July 30, 2024, a victim of battery was reported at NW 79 Terrace.

On August 1, 2024, an assault was reported on Margate Boulevard.

On August 1, 2024, a victim of assault was reported on SW 5 Street.

On August 3, 2024, a victim of an assault was reported on W Atlantic Blvd.

Criminal damage to property

On July 30, 2024, a victim of property damage was reported in NW 62 Terrace.

On August 1, 2024, a victim of property damage was reported on W Copans Road.

theft

On March 8, 2024, a bicycle theft was reported on Banks Road. The total estimated damage was $1,200.

Harbor Freight Tools was the victim of a Theft – Other at 5365 W Atlantic Blvd on 08/01/2024. The total estimated loss was $936.

The Town of Margate was the victim of a Theft – Other – at 5274 NW 30 Court on August 1, 2024. The total estimated damage was $400.

On 02/08/2024, a theft victim (all others) was reported on Pinewalk Dr N. The total estimated damage was $350.

On July 30, 2024, a theft of motor vehicle parts was reported on Holiday Springs Blvd. The total estimated damage was $200.

Dollar General was the victim of a Theft – Retail/Shoplifting at 700 S State Road 7 was reported on 07/31/2024. Total estimated damage was $11.

On 07/30/2024, a victim of theft – automotive parts – NW 58 Avenue was reported.

Accident

On July 30, 2024, an accident victim was reported on Banks Road.

Fraud

On July 30, 2024, a fraud victim was reported on NW 29 Street. The total estimated loss was $5,650.

On 08/01/2024, a Fraud Victim – Other was reported on W Sample Road. The total estimated loss was $4,500.

On August 1, 2024, a victim of fraudulent identity theft was reported on N State Road 7. The total estimated loss was $2,200.

Serious bodily harm

On August 3, 2024, a victim of aggravated assault was reported on NW 15 Street.

Burglary

On August 3, 2024, a break-in into a transportation vehicle was reported on South State Road 7. The total estimated damage was $2,400.

Arrests

Mendoza Montgomery, Nicolas, 35, was arrested on 07/30/2024 for Touching or Hitting/Assault/Domestic Violence in NW 79 Terrace.

Twensey, Shanard Antwan, 32, was arrested on 07/30/2024 for Criminal Damage to Property – Willful Damage to Property – Over $200, Under $1000, at 2801 N State Road 7.

Joseph Stanley, 23, was arrested on 07/31/2024 on SW 56 Avenue for violence, telephone contact and communication.

Steinberg, Gary Alan, 63, was arrested on August 1, 2024 in Concert Lane for extortion or threats.

Soto Mazariegos, Eric Pedro, 35, was arrested on 08/01/2024 on SW 5 Street on charges of domestic violence with assault.

Lewis, Labroderick S., 27, was arrested on August 3, 2024 on a charge of aggravated assault – person using a deadly weapon – at 5415 NW 15 Street.
