JOHNSON COUNTY – A Kansas man will go to prison in 2021 for a knife attack.

Last week, Judge Thomas Sutherland sentenced John Daniel Crawford Murry to 371 months in prison for second-degree premeditated murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary, the Johnson County District Attorney's Office said.

In June, Murry pleaded guilty to the death of Chargles Dillon in October 2022. In November 2022, police arrested Murry and co-defendant Devin Braswell following an investigation by the Merriam Police Department, Johnson County Crime Lab, Metro Squad and the District Attorney's Office.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on October 21, 2021, Merriam Police responded to a reported stabbing near Royalty Way and Kings Cove Drive. First responders found a victim, later identified as Dillon. He died at the scene.
