Apparent murder-suicide at Taco Bell drive-in in Stow leaves two dead

Two people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide at the Taco Bell drive-thru on Graham Road in Stow Wednesday night, police Capt. Bryan Snavely confirmed.

The Taco Bell at 993 Graham Road on the border of Stow and Cuyahoga Falls was surrounded by police cars, firefighters and a group of people around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Brandon Cromer and Blake Sherman said they were in a car in the drive-thru around 7:30 p.m. when a man got out in front of them. The witnesses said the man then walked up to the car in front of him and shot both the driver and passenger. They said he then shot himself.

The condition of the third person shot is unknown.

Cromer and Sherman said they fled to nearby Rocco's Pizza after the incident.

At 9 p.m., abandoned cars were seen at the drive-in.

Witnesses said a man got out of his car at the drive-thru and shot two people in the car in front of him before turning the gun on himself.

Others who said they witnessed the incident shared their reactions on social media.

“We just drove past on the way home and my heart sank. You could hear people crying in the parking lot. Prayers to everyone involved,” wrote one Facebook user.

“Someone got out of his car, fired shots at the car in front of him and then turned the gun on himself,” another said.

“As I was walking to my car in the Walmart parking lot, I heard four quick bangs coming from the direction of Taco Bell that could have been gunshots. Within three minutes, a Stow police officer was there in a pickup truck. He drove across the sidewalk and ran toward the building,” said a third Facebook user.

This is an evolving story.
