Lauderhill police officer arrested for digital voyeurism in connection with off-duty incident in Sunrise – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

LAUDERHILL, FLA. (WSVN) – A Lauderhill police officer got into trouble with the law when he was arrested in Sunrise.

According to Sunrise Police, they notified Lauderhill Police on Tuesday of an ongoing criminal investigation into an off-duty incident involving Lauderhill Police Officer Johnny Alejandro Mateo.

Later that same day, Mateo was arrested for digital voyeurism.

Mateo, who has been with Lauderhill since 2017, was placed on leave pending the ongoing investigation. He has since been released from prison on bail.

Sunrise Police detectives are continuing their investigation.
