Lawyer for Dover doctor accused of murdering his wife raises doubts about credibility of investigator connected to Karen Read trial – Boston News, Weather, Sports

DOVER, MASS. (WHDH) – Attorneys for a former Dover doctor accused of murdering his wife are seeking to review correspondence from a controversial investigator related to the Karen Read murder trial.

Lawyers for 60-year-old Ingolf Tuerk say former state police investigator Michael Proctor, who admitted to sending unprofessional text messages during Karen Read's murder trial, has since been fired from his post and an internal investigation has been launched in connection with the case.

Now Tuerk's attorney is using questions about Proctor's credibility as a reason to request case-related communications.

Tuerk, the former chief of urology at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, was remanded in custody without bail after he confessed to strangling his wife to death following an argument.

According to police, Kathleen McLean was last seen at the couple's Dover home in May 2020. Prosecutors say Tuerk disposed of her body in a nearby pond. The couple was in the middle of a divorce at the time.
