Half a million dollar bail for one of two drug suspects arrested in La Crosse

Two La Crosse residents are facing multiple drug charges. The charges stem from a traffic stop last week and a search warrant at a home on Division Street. Bail for one of the suspects was set at half a million dollars on Wednesday.

Lewis

Christina Joswick and Raymond Lewis are in prison for trafficking drugs such as fentanyl and meth. Lewis faces nine charges and Joswick faces seven new charges. Both are repeat offenders.

Joswick

The charges originally stemmed from a traffic stop of Lewis' car in the area of Gillette Street on Aug. 9, when police smelled marijuana and it was detected by a police dog. A green leafy substance was discovered in Joswick's purse. A later search of her home in the 1100 block of Division turned up a large assortment of drugs, paraphernalia and two phones.

On Wednesday, Joswick's bail was set at $10,000, while Lewis is being held on $500,000 bail. Joswick protested that she needed to be released from jail to continue her work. Judge Mark Huesmann said the suspects pose a danger to the public and are a flight risk. Both have evidentiary hearings next week.
