Drug house closed, 2 people charged with capital crimes

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) – Two men were arrested Wednesday on search warrants in connection with a drug investigation in southern Illinois.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, officers searched a home at 608 E. Broadway in Johnston City shortly before 1 p.m. on August 14. The home had been the site of extensive drug-related crimes.

Officers found contraband inside, including a firearm in the possession of a convicted felon.

The felon, David M. Lehman Jr., was charged with armed habitual criminal conduct (Class X felony), possession of methamphetamine (Class 3 felony), delivery of meth (Class 2 felony), possession of a weapon by a felon (Class 3 felony), and possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor).

Another man, Timothy L. Hastings, was charged with two counts of trafficking in meth (a Class 1 felony), possession of meth (a Class 3 felony), and possession of drug paraphernalia (a Class A misdemeanor).

Both men were taken into the custody of the Williamson County Jail.
