Cleveland Browns defensive tackle and former Ohio State football player Michael Hall Jr. was arrested Tuesday on minor domestic violence charges, confirmed James Drozdowski, a spokesman for the Avon Police Department.

Drozdowski said Hall turned himself in before being arrested and taken to Avon Lake Municipal Court. Drozdowski said Hall was released after posting bail with the court.

According to a police report Monday, the victim – who told authorities she was the mother of Hall's 11-month-old child – said Hall dragged her down a driveway and put a gun to her head while saying, “I'm going to put a f***ing end to this. I don't care.”

Hall will remain on the Cleveland Browns roster during the investigation. According to an ESPN reportHall was present Wednesday at the CrossCountry Mortgage Campus in Berea, Ohio, where the Browns participated in a joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings. Hall apparently left the practice due to an injury, according to the report.

“We are aware of last night's incident involving Mike Hall Jr.,” a Browns spokesman said in a written statement Tuesday. “Mike and his representatives have been in contact with the appropriate authorities. We are in the process of gathering additional information and will have no further comment at this time.”

According to the police report, Avon Police were notified by Lorain County Emergency Services at approximately 10:01 p.m. on Monday that a request for police assistance had been received for a residence in Avon.

The dispatcher told police that screaming could be heard in the background of the emergency call before the connection was disconnected.

After calling back, the operator spoke to a woman who reported a “domestic situation.” The caller said Michael Hall Jr. was the attacker, adding that Hall hit her with a baby bottle and pushed her daughter.

The police report states that the victim denied the need for medical attention and added that her daughter was “fine.”

Hall left the scene Monday night before police arrived, but turned himself in to police at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, Drozdowski said.

Hall was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft in April. The Streetsboro, Ohio native spent three years at Ohio State.
