LINCOLN, Nebraska (KLKN) — A Lincoln man was sentenced to prison in a federal prison Tuesday on charges of distributing child pornography.

43-year-old Andre Schwindt has been sentenced to five years behind bars for receiving child pornography.

U.S. District Judge Joseph Bataillon also ordered him to pay $15,000 in damages.

In April 2022, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received a tip that a Dropbox user had uploaded three child pornography files.

The US Attorney's Office said investigators had traced the IP address back to Schwindt.

Police questioned him in July 2023 and, according to authorities, he admitted to searching for and viewing child pornography.

A search of his cell phone revealed 534 images and nine videos of child pornography.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, most of them depicted boys under the age of 12.

After his prison sentence, Schwindt will serve five years' probation. There is no parole in the federal system.
