Erin Blanchfield vs. Rose Namajunas announced

The UFC returns to the “high white north” and this time Rogers Place and Edmonton (Alberta) are the venue for an event.

As UFC CEO Dana White announced on Sportsnet, a UFC Fight Night is officially planned for November 2nd, along with a main event between Rose Namajunas and Erin Blanchfield.

Blanchfield (12-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) is trying to rebound from her first UFC loss, a fairly one-sided unanimous decision loss to Manon Fiorot in March. Following the loss, Blanchfield told MMA Junkie she hoped a fight against Namajunas would happen, and now her wish has been granted.

Namajunas (13-6 MMA, 11-5 UFC) comes into the fight after back-to-back wins over Amanda Ribas and Tracy Cortez. She is 2-1 since returning to flyweight in 2021. Her loss during that stretch was a split decision to Fiorot.

There will also be a top-class co-headliner with Derrick Lewis and Alexandr Romanov.

Four more fights were announced on Thursday, all involving Canadians: Ariane Da Silva vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius, Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Dustin Stoltzfus, Jamey-Lyn Horth vs. Ivana Petrovic and Chad Anheliger vs. Cody Gibson.

With this addition, UFC Edmonton’s roster includes:

  • Rose Namajunas vs Erin Blanchfield
  • Derrick Lewis vs Alexandr Romanov
  • Ariane da Silva vs Jasmine Jasudavicius
  • Marc-Andre Barriault vs Dustin Stoltzfus
  • Jamey-Lyn Horth vs. Ivana Petrovic
  • Chad Anheliger vs. Cody Gibson
